FHR SYSTEMS

FHR systems (Frontal Head Restraint) are among the most important safety devices in modern motorsport. They were developed in the 1980s following serious accidents to significantly reduce the load on the head and neck during frontal impacts. FHR systems gained widespread adoption in the 1990s and have since become a mandatory component in professional racing – from national series to Formula 1.

The best-known FHR system is the HANS® system, which was developed in close cooperation with motorsport authorities and drivers. When used in combination with FIA-homologated racing suits, helmets and safety harnesses, modern FHR systems provide crucial protection against severe head and neck injuries.

Today’s FHR systems feature low weight, an ergonomic fit and maximum freedom of movement. They are specifically designed for use with FIA-homologated helmets and multi-point harness systems and meet the highest safety standards in professional motorsport.
